I am thirty three years old and I lived and studied in Sun Valley California until I graduated high school and my parents decided to come back to Mexico. After a few years of college (studying communications) I decided to take the TKT to have a certificate to teach. Now it has been already ten years since I started teaching in the year of 2006 . I consider myself a dynamic and enthusiastic bilingual instructor who likes to facilitate and provide everything that the student and the group needs on a personal and communal level. I always like to make the pupils feel included and participate in every session. I think that it is important to adapt to your students and make them feel comfortable and relaxed as much as possible and to ease the learning process for them as much as you can. Teaching is fun and very rewarding for me, it makes me feel productive, happy and satisfied with the career that I have chosen. I am always willing to give my best and to commit to my job and to the school that I work for and if you were to give me the opportunity to work with you I would do everything not to disappoint and to fulfill and surpass the expectations.
My family and I moved to the United States when my sister and I were in middle school and we came back when we were 18 to go to university. During those years in California I was able to learn, speak and interact as a bilingual student and I graduated in the year of 2003 with High Honors, I was also able to take a few college classes while I was still in High School through the Advanced Placement program as well. After I went to college for two years I decided that my calling was to be a teacher and so I took the Teaching Knowledge Test from Cambridge University to get certified. I also studied music for a few years to become a music instructor. In addition I have studied around 7 different English Teaching methods on my own. For example: Focus on Grammar, Interchange, TouchStone, English in Mind, Passages and a few more.
I have had the opportunity to teach at a few different schools, institutions and universities, during the last ten years. I got my first job working at an elementary school in the year of 2006. I worked there for a year then I came to Guadalajara and I started teaching at UNE language center, I worked there for about 4 years and I also taught English to University students majoring in tourism. Then in the year of 2010 due to a family situation I had to move back to Tepic, and I started teaching at the University Autonoma de Nayarit in the language center. I have also taught at the Universidad Tecnologica and in a catholic elementary and middle school full time. I worked at Berlitz as well 2 years ago and my last job was at Focus a school with a neurolinguistic programming. To conclude I have worked with students from all levels, all ages and many different personalities and learning styles as well varied methodologies and I believe that it has helped me to become more professional at what I do and more aware and alert and attentive and receptive to the students’ needs. I think that it is essential to believe in your pupils’ potential and to help them become 100 bilingual and guide them to achieve their goals and objectives.
