Honestly, Greek is a very difficult language if you are not a native speaker. But, I believe that basic knowledge can be learnt easy. There are some rules, totally different from all the other languages, but in case you understand them, then you will be able to understand greek people around you and have a mini-conversation with someone. Greek people do not speak as fast as Spanish people,so do not worry about that! Relax, and say it...despacito. Everyone will understand what you want to say.
From my experience, I think that is one of the most challenging and interesting languages to learn. And believe me,your friends will all like to teach them some greek worlds! Besides that, visiting Greece maybe is in your future plans, so take action, start from 0 and slowly reach the target!
