Hi. My name is Nikki. One thing I love about helping people gain confidence speaking English is that I get to meet so many interesting people like you. I am from the U.S. but moved to Colombia in 2014. When I am not tutoring English, I am teaching Pilates, editing academic manuscripts, or running in the mountains with my dogs.

I am a native of the U.S. but I have been living in Colombia since 2014, which means I am on this language learning journey with you. I have a B.A. in Sociology from the University of South Florida; a 500-hour comprehensive Pilates teacher certification; and a 120-hour TEFL Certificate from TEFL Universal.
Living in Colombia, I have struggled to learn Spanish. It has been a difficult and sometimes scary journey. I know how important it is to have a patient teacher and relaxed environment. That is what I offer. a classroom where you can feel comfortable speaking and making mistakes.
In our classes we may watch a video, read an article, do a structured lesson, or listen to a podcast. But we will always have real conversation around real topics.
My goal is to create a safe, relaxed, fun environment where we can practice together. I want to build your comfort and confidence, so you can speak without fear.
If you are a Pilates teacher, I also want to you help you. I have combined my English tutoring and Pilates teaching skills to create a special curriculum for Pilates teachers who want to teach in English.
Some of the many topics we will cover:
-Prepositions of place and movement
-Verbs for cuing movement, placement and flow
-Teaching the principles of Pilates in English.
-Cuing posture and neutral spine -Common words for body parts
-Greetings and closing
-Polite language for correcting
I want to help you become an effective Pilates teacher in English and advance your career.
