Sobre Gordon
I am a very experienced Business English teacher. After graduating from Oxford Brookes University, I obtained an RSA/UCLES CELTA and the LCCI certificate in teaching business English. I have taught in many companies including KPMG, La Caixa, Valeo and also La Generalitat de Catalunya.
As well as teaching groups I have also taught many individuals including lawyers, bankers, IT consultants, data specialists, marketing managers and even a dancer and a footballer.
During the ongoing lockdown due to Covid 19, I have transferred my skills online. I recently completed the Cambridge Assessment English course in teaching English Online. I feel that that teaching English online can be just as effective as face to face.

For me, the most important thing is a detailed needs analysis. Understanding the students' needs is crucial in order to plan a cohesive, structured and relevant course.
As well as focussing on grammatical structures I give a lot of attention to speaking and listening. I often use real-life listenings such as BBC interviews or TEDtalks.
I can help you with exam preparation or developing skills such as making phone calls, giving presentations, writing emails or taking part in meetings.
I sometimes 'flip' the classroom. This gives the students far more time to speak in class having done some relevant task at home. This may involve doing some reading or studying a grammar point or watching a short video at home which can then be discussed in class/online.
The key aspect of all my classes is speaking. The student should be encouraged to speak at all times. Delayed error correction can then be given to clear up any mistakes.
