Sobre Alistair
For the past three years I have actually been living in France - for the first year I worked at a private English school, Wall Street Institute. This involved teaching students aged 18-60. I quickly became one of the favourite teachers by creating a friendly atmosphere in which the students were able to rapidly progress. For the last two years I was a secondary school teacher in Paris. I received training in pedagogy and the latest teaching methods. Having over 120 teenage students in total at one time was a challenging and rewarding experience that gave me many skills which I can focus into the much calmer situation of face-to-face private lessons.

I enjoy working with adults of all ages and find it very interesting. I also really enjoy working with children and teenagers, and I find it particularly important to make lessons entertaining and engaging for all ages. I speak a little Spanish but I strongly agree with language teaching experts that lessons should be carried out solely in the language you are learning. With young children I use limited instructions in Spanish and then teach with pictures, actions and games. With teenagers and adults I use a range of real-world texts and articles, natural conversation and listening activities as well as the occasional grammar exercise to reinforce understanding of particular rules.
My face to face lessons are built around the learner's needs, desires and targets, whether these are improving conversation skills or studying for a B1 exam. I am a very friendly and patient teacher who is invested in their students' progress and I will dedicate myself to improving your or your child's English!
