Hi, I am a qualified primary school teacher. I have been teaching in England for 5 years and in Valencia in a British School for over 1 year.
I am offering 1:1 tutoring sessions for children of all ages, I would provide fun, effective and individual sessions. This may be in speaking, reading, writing or any area you know your child needs support.
Suitable for children studying at British Schools; I have an extensive knowledge of the National Curriculum and have recent professional development training so I can support their learning with a good understanding.
Equally I can prepare fun, innovative and interesting classes for children who go to Spanish schools and are keen to learn English as a second language.
Likewise I would be happy to create a personalised plan for adult learners to improve their language skills in preparation for Cambridge exams. Whilst I don't have a lot of experience at this I have a well spoken clear native British accent and would be happy to support your progress to success.
I have been teaching for a over 6 years.
I studied Primary Education with Art at University and began my teaching career in England where I always taught in schools with a high number of children with English as a Second Language.
I have taught classes of up to 30 children.
Children in my class have always made expected progress or more and I pride myself on maintaining good positive relationships with my pupils to help them gain self confidence and achieve well.

09/17- Present. Year 1 Teacher, British College La Canada, Spain.
A 3 form entry British School who delivers the National Curriculum and Early Learning Goals alongside the Spanish curriculum. Teaching a class of children all of whom are Spanish, I have adapted as much of my teaching practise from England into this current setting to provide a stimulating and diverse environment for them to thrive. I have drawn on my training from Pie Corbett-Talk for Writing, Read Write Inc and Active Listening to encourage the children to speak confidently in English and give them a good foundation in their understanding of the language. I am running a weekly lunchtime art club in which we learn about a different famous painting and artist and attempt to recreate the style.
9/16-08/16: Reception Teacher. British School Xativa, Spain.
09/14-12/15: Early Years Teacher. John Ball Primary School, Blackheath, London.
Outstanding 2 form entry Primary School with excellent community ethos and a diverse catchment area. I taught 2 classes of 21 3-4 year olds. I managed a team of nursery nurses and worked as part of the Early Years team. We had a fantastic outside area with mud kitchen, garden and pond as well as a large indoor area in which we planned around children’s interests to ensure that the learning environment was appropriately challenging and supported the development and understanding of all areas of the Foundation Stage Profile. I made strong links with the parents and local community and worked with a variety of professionals to ensure every child settled well at school including providing extra support for a number of children with speech and language difficulties as well as a child with ASD. The classroom underwent complete refurbishment during the summer holidays and myself and my team were able to design and decorate the classroom to create a dynamic and accessible learning environment for the children to thrive in.
04/13-08/14: Year 2 Class Teacher. South Harringay Infant School, Harringey , London.
2 form entry Infant School with fantastic nurturing and holistic ethos; pupils came from a wide range of social and ethnic backgrounds. In this maternity cover position I worked hard to ensure a smooth takeover from the previous teacher; building positive relationships with children and staff quickly in order to see them through their last most important term of Year 2. I led a ‘Big Draw Day’ organising different art and craft activities for the 7 classes around the theme of ‘The 7 Wonders of the World’. On the day parents were invited to join the children in creating art works. Feedback from teachers, parents and the children was really positive. I worked with my Year 2 team to produce 2 end of year shows one a scripted play and the other ‘Harringey’s got talent!’ this showcased talents that the children had independently chosen. I also planned and led numerous educational trips into London to visit museums, exhibitions and outings that enhanced the children’s learning.
