I took French immersion in school a number of years ago but my French was pretty rusty and I wanted to become more comfortable using French at work. I have taken lots of French courses as an adult but didn't find that I was getting better at understanding others and being understood in real life. You really can't beat one on one practice and if you want to improve your French for everyday life/work - I highly recommend Émilie! Don't waste your time and money on a group course because there's not a lot of time for each student to practice speaking in a classroom setting, the lessons are very grammar focused and a lot of times the teacher is from France, where the vocabulary is very different from what's commonly used in Canada (both in a casual setting and at work).

Émilie has hugely helped me to understand French in Canada and I can't say enough good things about her. If you're going to spend time learning French, you want the result to be that you are able to communicate comfortably (not just conjugate verbs on a page) and you want it to be fun so you stick with it and it doesn't feel like a chore. Émilie has a great sense of humour and I always look forward to our weekly lessons! Like they say, if you don't use it, you lose it and I feel very lucky that I found Émilie - I finally feel like my French is improving and I'm much more comfortable speaking French. I can't recommend her enough.
