Sobre Florencia
Florencia Bernales es cantante, compositora, y coach de cantantes y actores. Nació en Buenos Aires, hija de una madre argentina y un padre peruano. Pasó su primera infancia viviendo en Perú, en las ciudades de Cusco y Lima.
A los 8 años, comenzó su trayectoria al unirse al Coro de Niños del Teatro Colón, participando en numerosas producciones de ópera y conciertos durante cuatro años. Durante su adolescencia, amplió sus horizontes musicales explorando diversos géneros como la música antigua, el jazz y los cantos afrocubanos. Es en esa etapa, donde grabó por primera vez como cantante solista en un disco, junto al Taller de Percusión Latina de Miguel Tallo.
A los 20 años de edad, partió a Londres, Inglaterra. Realizó sus estudios musicales en el Trinity College of Music de Londres, donde obtuvo su licenciatura en Música en el año 2001. Después de pasar diez años entre Londres y Berlín, regresó a Argentina en 2005.
A partir de 2006, se unió a la carrera de Tango y Folklore en el Conservatorio Superior Municipal Manuel de Falla. En 2013, se sumó a la Diplomatura en Música Argentina de la Universidad Nacional de San Martín, donde enseña Técnica Vocal y Repertorio en ambas instituciones.
Se formó vocalmente con Lía Ferenese, Víctor Torres, Ana Sirulnik, Roxana Amed, Myriam Toker, Elisa Viladesau, Gottfried Hoffmann, Patricia Farías, Mark Tucker, John Wakefield, John Upperton, David Polard y Maria Jonas, entre otros.
Musicalmente, se formó con Catalina Hadis, Gabriel Garrido, Pedro Memmelsdorf, Lucho Gonzalez, Mariano Moruja, Andrés Gerzsenzon, David Roblou, Benjamin Bagby, Edgardo Cardozo, Diego Schissi, Facundo Guevara, Alicia Campastro y Juan Falú, entre otros.
A lo largo de toda su vida, ha estudiado danzas de raíz africana, tanto de Brasil, como de Perú, Costa de Marfil y Guinea. También ha estudiado teatro con Laura Yussem.
Ha realizado una formación en Stretching Global Activo (La Reeducación Postural Global aplicada al deporte), dirigida por Philippe Souchard.
Ha participado como solista en discos de La Chilinga, Juan Falú, Quinteto de los Santos, e Icalma, entre otros.
Se ha presentado en diversas salas de los grandes centros culturales de la ciudad de Buenos Aires como El Centro Cultural Nestor Kirchner, Centro Cultural Borges, Centro Cultural de la Cooperación, y el Teatro San Martín, entre otros.
Como solista, ha compartido escenario con Juan Falú, La Bomba del Tiempo, Jaime Torres, Lucho Gonzalez, Andrés Pilar, Pablo Fraguela, Federico Ciancio, Alessandra Leao, Ana Luiza, Luis Felipe Gama, Alex Mendoza, Layl Barr, entre otros.
Ha grabado bajo la dirección musical de Benjamin Bagby, junto al ensamble Sequentia, en el disco ¨Krone und Schleier¨dedicado a la obra de compositoras femeninas en el medioevo, como Hildegard Von Bingen.
En 2007 edita "Interior", disco grabado casi enteramente en portugues, junto a Henry Burnett y Edson Coelho (Belem, Brasil).
En 2010, ganando una beca a la creación del Fondo Nacional de las Artes, lanza su primer disco solista, "Ruta 9" (2010), con la participación de Lucho Gonzalez, Juan Falú, Alessandra Leao, Rodrigo Cazapa, Facundo Guevara, entre otros.
En el 2013, edita su segundo trabajo solista ¨Por la Huella¨, con la participación de Hilda Herrera, Jaime Torres, Lucho Gonzalez, Juan Falú, Pablo Fraguela, Hernan Lucero, Pablo Estigarribia, Lilián Saba y Andrés Pilar, entre otros.
En el 2020, luego de algunos años dedicados a la maternidad, lanza su tercer disco solista ¨Tres Orillas¨con la participación de Lucho Gonzalez, Hubert Reyes y Juan Falú, entre otros.
YUYAL, banda que creó junto a Alfonso Alcoleas, en la que realizan composiciones propias, lanza su primer disco el 8 de diciembre de 2023.
En 2023, lanza dos singles junto a Juan Falú, ALGARROBO y ROMANCE DEL MOLINERO.
Actualmente, se encuentra trabajando en tres proyectos que serán lanzados en 2024. El primer disco del dúo junto a Evar Cativiela en el archilaúd, así como un álbum de piano y voz en colaboración con Pablo Fraguela, y su cuarto disco solista.
Florencia Bernales is a singer, songwriter, and coach for singers and actors. She was born in Buenos Aires, the daughter of an Argentine mother and a Peruvian father. She spent her early childhood living in Peru, in the cities of Cusco and Lima.
At the age of 8, she began her journey by joining the Children's Choir of the Teatro Colón, participating in numerous opera productions and concerts for four years. During her adolescence, she expanded her musical horizons by exploring various genres such as ancient music, jazz, and Afro-Cuban chants. It was during this period that she recorded for the first time as a solo singer on an album, collaborating with the Latin Percussion Workshop of Miguel Tallo.
At the age of 20, she moved to London, England, where she studied music at the Trinity College of Music, graduating in 2001. After spending ten years between London and Berlin, she returned to Argentina in 2005.
From 2006, she joined the Tango and Folklore program at the Manuel de Falla Municipal Superior Conservatory. In 2013, she joined the Diploma in Argentine Music at the National University of San Martín, where she teaches Vocal Technique and Repertoire at both institutions.
She received vocal training from Lía Ferenese, Víctor Torres, Ana Sirulnik, Roxana Amed, Myriam Toker, Elisa Viladesau, Gottfried Hoffmann, Patricia Farías, Mark Tucker, John Wakefield, John Upperton, David Polard, and Maria Jonas, among others.

As a soloist, she has shared the stage with Juan Falú, La Bomba del Tiempo, Jaime Torres, Lucho Gonzalez, Andrés Pilar, Pablo Fraguela, Federico Ciancio, Alessandra Leao, Ana Luiza, Luis Felipe Gama, Alex Mendoza, Layl Barr, among others.
She recorded under the musical direction of Benjamin Bagby, with the Sequentia ensemble, on the album "Krone und Schleier," dedicated to the work of female composers in the Middle Ages, such as Hildegard Von Bingen.
In 2007, she released "Interior," an album recorded almost entirely in Portuguese, alongside Henry Burnett and Edson Coelho (Belem, Brazil).

Con más de 40 años de dedicación a la técnica vocal, he explorado diversos enfoques, sumergiéndome personalmente en cada uno de ellos. Mi experiencia abarca desde el intenso mundo del tango y la ópera, hasta la delicadeza de la música antigua, la improvisación libre del jazz y la riqueza folklórica. He transitado cada uno de estos estilos, nutriéndome de las particularidades y demandas de cada género para enriquecer mi comprensión y destreza vocal.
Además, he plasmado mi pasión por la música en cinco álbumes editados, cada uno representando un capítulo único y auténtico de mi travesía artística. Estos registros reflejan no solo mi habilidad técnica, sino también mi profundo compromiso con la expresión artística y la exploración continua de las posibilidades de la voz en diversos contextos musicales. En mis clases, comparto no solo conocimientos teóricos y técnicos, sino también las valiosas experiencias que he acumulado a lo largo de mi carrera, brindando a mis estudiantes una perspectiva completa y enriquecedora del mundo del canto.
With over 40 years of dedication to vocal technique, I have explored various approaches, immersing myself personally in each of them. My experience spans from the intense world of tango and opera to the delicacy of ancient music, the free improvisation of jazz, and the richness of folklore. I have traversed each of these styles, drawing from the peculiarities and demands of each genre to enrich my understanding and vocal prowess.
Furthermore, I have translated my passion for music into five released albums, each representing a unique and authentic chapter of my artistic journey. These recordings not only showcase my technical skill but also reflect my profound commitment to artistic expression and the continuous exploration of the possibilities of the voice in various musical contexts. In my classes, I share not only theoretical and technical knowledge but also the valuable experiences I have accumulated throughout my career, providing students with a comprehensive and enriching perspective on the world of singing.
