¡Hola! Soy Shirley and I am a native Mexican Spanish speaker with advanced English (C1) and intermediate Russian (approximately B1).
Because I have learned foreign languages myself, I understand how confusing grammar can feel, how uncomfortable it can be to speak before you feel ready, and how useful a clear explanation in your own language can be.
I have more than 30 hours of real one-to-one tutoring experience with an adult English-speaking beginner. I am also currently completing a 50-hour teacher-training course in Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE).
I am still developing as a tutor, and I prefer to be honest about that. I prepare my lessons carefully, listen to the student’s needs, and focus on the levels and goals I can genuinely support.
I also study Software Engineering, so I naturally enjoy organizing information and explaining ideas step by step.

My online lessons are designed for adults and young adults from complete beginner to lower-intermediate level, approximately A1–B1.
We focus on practical Mexican Spanish that you can use in everyday situations: introducing yourself, asking questions, ordering food, shopping, making plans, describing your routine, understanding common expressions and having real conversations.
A typical 60-minute lesson includes:
• A short check-in and review
• One clear communication goal
• A simple explanation with examples
• Guided speaking, reading or listening practice
• A practical conversation or role-play
• Corrections, feedback and a clear next step
Depending on the lesson, I may use structured presentations, Canva visuals, Wordwall activities, short readings, listening exercises and conversation prompts.
English is available as a bridge when something is difficult. As your confidence grows, we gradually use more Spanish.
TEACHING METHODOLOGY
I use a structured and communicative approach. Grammar is explained when it helps you communicate, but it is not taught as a disconnected list of rules.
You will see the language in context, practice it with support and then use it in a realistic situation. Corrections are clear and respectful. You will never be expected to speak perfectly before you are ready.

These lessons are not currently intended for C1/C2 students, young children, DELE/SIELE preparation, or specialized legal and medical Spanish.

Ella es una muy buena profesora de español. Sus clases son muy interesantes y ella explica todo de una manera muy fácil para entender. Tiene mucha paciencia conmigo cuando hago errores y siempre me ayuda a mejorar.

I am a teacher myself and I must say that I really like her approach. It is based on a lot of practice and personalisation. Also, she is patient, organised, and always finds different ways to explain difficult topics until they make sense. The lessons are never boring, and I genuinely look forward to the next one. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who wants to learn Spanish effectively and in a fun way.
