Sobre Alan

I’ve always been drawn to the power of communication and the connections it creates, which is why I love being an English tutor. My journey started with 7 years as a Naval officer, where I learned how to lead, motivate, and adapt to different people and situations. That experience taught me the value of clear communication and the impact it can have, and it’s something I bring to every lesson I teach.

After the navy, I followed my passion for philosophy and writing, where I developed a deep appreciation for language and the art of expressing complex ideas. I’ve also spent years debating and writing, which means I know how to help others find the right words to say what they truly mean. I’m naturally outgoing and love engaging with others, so you’ll always find me encouraging you to dive into discussions and express yourself confidently.

For me, teaching English isn’t just about grammar or vocabulary—it’s about helping you find your voice and giving you the confidence to use it. I take pride in creating a space where you can feel comfortable, make mistakes, and learn at your own pace. It’s incredibly rewarding to see my students grow, not just as English speakers but as confident communicators. If you’re looking for someone who’s committed to helping you become fluent and express yourself fully, I’d be thrilled to be part of your journey.

As a private English tutor, I’m committed to guiding advanced speakers to achieve genuine fluency, focusing on the ability to engage in complex debates, articulate ideas clearly, and defend positions confidently in English. My approach is rooted in a collaborative, inquiry-based, and student-focused teaching style. I encourage my students to take an active role in the learning process, fostering an environment where they feel empowered to express themselves freely and thoughtfully.

My teaching methodology integrates interactive discussions, debates, and role-playing exercises that simulate real-life scenarios. We tackle diverse topics, whether philosophical, political, or general, to broaden your vocabulary, sharpen your reasoning, and improve your ability to respond spontaneously in English. This method not only builds language skills but also develops critical thinking and public speaking abilities.

A typical class program begins with exploring a chosen topic, followed by guided discussions where you’ll be encouraged to express your ideas and opinions. We’ll engage in structured debates to practice argumentation techniques, and you’ll receive personalized feedback on your presentation style, language accuracy, and persuasive abilities. The goal is for you to gain the confidence to speak publicly, present your ideas effectively, answer questions under pressure, and defend your viewpoints convincingly.

With 7 years of experience as a Naval officer, a degree in philosophy, and a background in writing, debating, and pitching, I bring a unique set of skills to my teaching. This combination of discipline, critical analysis, and communication expertise allows me to create a learning experience that is both challenging and supportive. My classes are specifically aimed at individuals who already possess a solid grasp of English but are eager to elevate their proficiency, whether for professional, academic, or personal growth. If you’re looking to develop your English skills to the point where you can debate, present, and communicate with fluency and authority, my tailored lessons are designed to help you achieve just that.
