Sobre Jimena
My name is Jimena, I'm 15 years old, and I'm a native Spanish speaker. Spanish has been my mother tongue my whole life, but I've also had the opportunity to live in both England and the United States. That experience made me realize how challenging it can be to learn a new language from scratch.
I know exactly what it feels like to be in a country and not understand what people are saying around you, or to hesitate before speaking because you're afraid of making mistakes. That experience has made me appreciate my own language even more and understand the struggles of those who want to learn it.
I love my language and my culture, and I truly enjoy sharing them with people from other countries. I'm patient, friendly, and I love watching someone go from shy greetings to holding confident conversations. My goal is to make Spanish stop being a challenge and become a door to new friendships and experiences.

My Teaching Method and How I Share My Knowledge
I teach with closeness and trust. I create a pressure-free environment where students feel safe to make mistakes and learn without embarrassment. My goal isn't just for you to learn grammar, but to gain confidence speaking and enjoy using Spanish in your daily life.
Techniques and Teaching Methodology
- Input + Output: Traditional classes focus a lot on input (listening, reading) but forget about output (speaking, communicating). This is the main reason why people study theory for years but freeze when they try to speak.
- You speak 80% of the time: I only guide and correct without interrupting, so you don't lose your flow or get blocked.
- Grammar with real examples: We learn with series, songs, memes, and everyday situations, not boring theory.
- Live correction with Google Docs: While you speak, I write down your mistakes and new words in a shared document. At the end of class, I send it to you so you can review.
- Practical approach: I prioritize real communication over memorization. I teach you expressions that native speakers use daily and that don't appear in textbooks.
Sample 1-Hour Class Program
- Warm-up (5 min): Casual chat in Spanish to activate your brain. Example: "How was your week? Have you watched any new series?"
- Grammar / Vocabulary (15 min): Explanation of the topic with practical examples. If we study the subjunctive, we learn it through movie quotes or song lyrics.
- Listening (10 min): Short video (YouTuber, song, or movie scene) to train your ear with real accents.
- Speaking (20 min): Role-play or guided conversation about something you enjoy (travel, food, music, Spanish customs).
- Wrap-up (10 min): Summary of what we learned, answering questions, and preparing for next class.

- Focus on pronunciation: I help you sound more natural, with tricks for the "r," the "j," and typical Spanish intonation.
