Sobre Barry
I graduated from high school in Jamaica and from Bauder College in Florida in fashion merchandising. I have taught English for 23 years, in the Dominican Republic for 2 years, in Venezuela for 16 years, and presently in Colombia for the past 4 years. I have taught in well-known language institutions, but have found it better to be a freelance tutor offering my services to employees in international companies and others who understand the importance of English to advance in their field. I also offer preparation for the TOEFL and IELTS, business presentations, job interviews, and training in any specific area my student requests. Communication skills, overcoming fear of speaking in public are some "soft skills" areas I help my students with.

By understanding the student´s needs and barriers I am able to implement a strategy to cover all aspects of his/ her learning to dominate the language. Most of my students are professionals with some understanding of English so I am very careful to guide and motivate my students to reach their goals. An evaluation is first given to set a roadmap so the student understands and approves the course.
