Sobre Axel Uriel
Hi! I'm Axel Oliva, a student in my last year of international business, born and raised in Mexico City for my whole life. I've been speaking English since I was 6, so I have an extremely good handle on the language to understand and adapt to your needs and wishes. I've always had a love for urban design and anthropology; understanding the city I grew up in is one of my favorite things. Every part, as mundane as it may look, yells history. I am extremely happy the city is gaining its reputation as a new hotspot for international travelers wishing to live better. I'm not the most extroverted person, so while I may not be able to tell you where the best raves are, I can guide you to the best museums and places to enjoy where the city shines its brightest while avoiding its... less flattering aspects. This class will be focused on assisting foreigners to traverse Mexico City and its infrastructure. We will be making virtual travels through its transport system and analyzing the signaling used, using maps to understand hidden gems and no-go zones. Using recorded examples, we'll learn the local jargon (We will also learn jargon from other regions but it will be focused on Mexico City). After this course, you'll be able to navigate through the city with confidence and understand everything happening in this 8 million people megacity.
