Sobre Donovan
I am a Social Psychologist, a Music Collector, and a born-and-raised Chilango who knows the veins of this city—from the deepest barrios to the most sophisticated hidden gems.
Why learn with me?
Learning a language is a social act. My background in Social Psychology allows me to teach you more than just grammar; I teach you the collective psyche of Mexico. We won’t just study verbs; we will decode the social fabric of the city you are living in.
What I bring to the table:
The "Barrio" Intelligence: I’ll teach you the slang (jerga), the double meanings, and the codes needed to navigate any neighborhood with confidence and respect.
Sonic & Urban Culture: As a music collector, I use the city's sounds, history, and underground scenes to make the language come alive.
The Real "Chilango" Map: Forget the tourist guides. I know exactly where to go for the best authentic food, where to dance without the crowds, and where to meet the real "gente chida" (cool people) that make this city vibrate.
Beyond the Classroom:
My goal is for you to feel like a local. I’ll give you the tools to understand the humor, the social cues, and the hidden spots that only a true insider knows.
If you want to stop being a "foreigner" and start truly understanding the city you inhabit, let’s get to work. This isn't just a Spanish class; it's your key to the city.

Spanish is a high-context language, and Mexican Spanish is an art form. If you are looking for a deep, intellectual, and practical dive into the language, this is for you. As a Social Psychologist, I design my lessons to analyze the intersection of language, behavior, and culture.
Contextual Fluency: We won't just memorize verbs; we will analyze 90s Mexican cinema, urban history, and contemporary social dynamics.
The "Double Meaning" Lab: Understand the psychological layers of Mexican humor so you never feel lost in a conversation.
Tailored Learning: I use psychological principles to make your learning process faster, more intuitive, and less frustrating.
Slang Mastery: Use "chido," "cámara," and "qué onda" like a pro.
