El presente simple se utiliza para describir acciones habituales, hechos generales y verdades universales. Se forma utilizando la base del verbo, y se añade una "s" al final del verbo en la tercera persona del singular (he, she, it)

a) I play tennis every weekend.
b) She reads a book before bed.

El pasado simple se usa para hablar de acciones que ocurrieron y finalizaron en un momento específico en el pasado. Se forma añadiendo "-ed" al final del verbo regular, o utilizando la forma pasada del verbo irregular.

a) We visited the museum yesterday. (Visitamos el museo ayer.)
b) He ate dinner at 8 PM.
