Mutualism is a type of symbiotic relationship between two different species where both benefit from the interaction. In this relationship, each organism provides something the other needs, which helps both survive or thrive. Mutualism is common in many ecosystems and can be observed in plants, animals, and even microorganisms. For example, some plants offer food to animals in exchange for pollination, while certain fish help clean parasites off larger fish. Unlike parasitism, where only one organism benefits, mutualism is beneficial to both participants.
