Speaking test
El IELTS Speaking Test es una entrevista cara a cara con un examinador, diseñada para evaluar cómo te comunicas en inglés en situaciones reales.
🕒 Duración:
Aproximadamente 11 a 14 minutos divididos en 3 partes:
1️⃣ Part 1 – Personal Questions:
Hablarás sobre tu vida, tus intereses y temas cotidianos (familia, estudios, hobbies, etc.).
2️⃣ Part 2 – Long Turn:
Recibirás una tarjeta con un tema y tendrás 1 minuto para prepararte antes de hablar durante 1-2 minutos de forma continua.
3️⃣ Part 3 – Discussion:
Participarás en una conversación más profunda sobre ideas relacionadas con el tema anterior.
💡 Objetivo:
Esta sección te ayudará a familiarizarte con el formato, mejorar tu fluidez, pronunciación y coherencia, y ganar la confianza necesaria para expresarte con naturalidad frente al examinador.
Ejercicios
Part 1: Questions about the test taker (4 - 5 mins)
In this section, you will answer general questions about yourself, your home, studies, work, and interests.
Focus on giving short, natural answers and sounding confident when talking about familiar topics.
Set a timer and get your phone ready to record.
Listen to the audio and pause after each question.
Answer each question out loud, speaking for about 20–30 seconds per response.
Play back your recording and use the self-evaluation checklist to assess your fluency, pronunciation, and clarity.

Part 2: Talking about a topic for up to 2 minutes
You will receive a topic card and have one minute to prepare. Then, you will speak for one to two minutes about the topic. Use connectors and examples to structure your answer. Try to keep talking without long pauses.
Goal: Organize your answer with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
Sample Task Card:
Describe a place you’ve visited that you would like to go back to.
You should say:
- Where it is
- When you went there
- What you did there, and explain why you would like to visit it again.
Take one minute to make notes. Then, record yourself speaking for up to two minutes. Try not to stop until the time is up.

Part 3: General discussion, linked to Part 2 (4 – 5 mins)
This part includes more complex questions related to the topic from Part 2. Focus on developing your ideas, expressing opinions clearly, and using advanced vocabulary to support your answers.

- Listen to the audio and pause after each question.
- Answer each question out loud, speaking for about 30-40 seconds per response.
- Play back your recording and use the self-evaluation checklist to assess your fluency, pronunciation, and clarity.
